$2,399

Hi there.

I'm selling my incredible 2012 Rocky Mountain Vertex 970 RSL 29er Carbon Race Hardtail. It is a Large frame (18.5") seat tube, and 24.2" effective top tube, which will suit riders from 5'10.5" to 6'2". I bought this in January 2013, so it only has one riding season on it. The original retail price on this bike was $4,000 in stock form. I have upgraded the wheelset to a Stan's Arch Ex wheelset (over $500) which is stronger, wider, lighter, and easier to set up tubeless than the stock DT Swiss Wheelset. I also upgraded the handlebar to a carbon Bontrager 720mm wide, 5 mm rise bar for better performance and handling control. I have a new Maxxis Ikon that was never used that will come with it, and a 90% tread Specialized Ground Control 2.3 on the front I just put on a couple months ago. I have a Crankbrothers Cobalt 3 80mm stem ($100) on there, which I could keep on there at asking price, or swap it back to the original 90mm Easton.

Formula brakes are silly light, and powerful, and offer excellent modulation.

This bike has short Chainstays 433mm, and a 70.25 Degree head angle with contribute to a very nimble ride, while being stable. The reviews online rave about this bike, and I concur.

I've never raced it, but it would sure be a wonderful race bike. It weighs 21.5 without pedals. Rocky Mountain honors their carbon bikes with a 5 year frame warranty, which shows the strength of these bikes.

I'm finding that I am forced to ride my road bike more than my mtn bike these days as I have 2 little boys and a growing fitness business, and it is easier and faster to leave from the garage on a road bike ride. Please give me a call with any questions or to set up a time to ride and see this bike. It is in excellent condition with less than a year of riding on it. You won't be disappointed.

First person to see and ride it will probably buy it.

Call to discuss pricing or to set up a time to see it.

I might be willing to part it out if someone wanted the frame, fork, wheels, components, or any combination.

My name is Kevin.
